2022 Research Season

Today starts the first day of the 2022 research season. The goal for this summer is to finish and submit for publication the Hunt for the Real Jaws. We hope to share all the new information on the 1916 shark attacks with the public and finally bring them to conclusion.

The Great Whites are Back!

Great Whites are moving north along the Jersey Shore heading to New England. I hope everyone has a safe beach season!!! Enjoy the waters and always obey the lifeguards when it comes to dangerous marine life sightings!

New Project

So today I am starting a new project. While conducting historical research on shark attacks in New York and New Jersey waters, I came across numerous references to sea serpents and encounters with other mysterious marine creatures. NY Beach Closings

Several NY beaches were closed today for shark sightings. Sand tiger, Thresher, and Black Tip sharks have been sighted on Long Island, some very close to shore.
